Last audited 2026-10-20 against WCAG 2.2 AA.
Accessibility statement
Vardar Group is committed to making its student information system usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or voice control. This statement covers the student, faculty, guardian, applicant and alumni portals, the sign-in page and the documents the system issues.
Conformance status
The system is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) WCAG 2.2 level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts do not yet fully meet the standard; they are listed under known exceptions below. This statement is the legal accessibility statement required of public-sector bodies in the EU (Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and the European Accessibility Act) and follows the Section 508 / ADA Title II expectations for US institutions.
How it was tested
- Last audit: 2026-10-20 (release 0.64.1).
- Automated checks with axe-core on 58 pages — every portal home page, the five daily student tasks (timetable, grades, balance and payment, registration, digital ID), the most used staff screens, the sign-in page and this statement — at phone, tablet and desktop widths, in the light and the dark theme.
- A keyboard-only walkthrough (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Escape) of the five student tasks and the faculty desk.
- Contrast of the institution's brand colors is checked when they are set (Setup › Identity warns below 4.5:1).
- Issued PDF documents are tagged (structure tree and language) so screen readers can read them.
What we did
- A "Skip to main content" link, landmarks and labelled navigation on every page.
- A visible focus outline on every link, button and field; dialogs keep keyboard focus inside, close with Escape and return focus to where you were.
- Form fields are labelled, and errors are announced and linked to the field they belong to.
- Animations are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow at 200 % zoom without sideways scrolling (wide data tables scroll on their own).
- A dark theme that follows your device setting, with the same contrast requirements as the light one.
- After moving to another page, keyboard focus starts at the main content, as it does after a full page load.
- The portals are available in English, Macedonian and Albanian.
Known exceptions
- The machine-drafted Macedonian and Albanian translations are awaiting native review; some wording may be unclear.
- Some selection lists and table fields on staff screens take their accessible name from the surrounding column or option text rather than a written label; written labels are being added screen by screen.
- Staff screens outside the audited set have not been tested page by page.
- Older PDF documents issued before 2026-10-20 are not tagged; ask for a reissued copy.
- Screen-reader spot checks with NVDA are pending.
